Ammonium Nitrate (NH₄NO₃)

High-purity ammonium nitrate fertilizer and industrial oxidizer — reliable nitrogen source for agricultural and select industrial uses (handled and transported under regulatory controls).

USD 390.50 per unit
Original: TZS 1,000,000.00

Key Specifications

  • Nitrogen content: typically 33–34% N (depending on grade)
  • Granular / prilled forms for even spreading and blending
  • Low soluble impurities — suitable for fertilizer blending and industrial applications
  • Available in agricultural and technical grades (specify on order)
  • Long shelf life when stored dry and cool

Description

Ammonium nitrate is a widely used nitrogen fertilizer and oxidizing agent. For agricultural use it supplies readily available nitrogen to crops; technical grades are used in industrial formulations and manufacturing under strict regulatory controls. It must be stored and handled carefully to avoid moisture uptake and mixing with incompatible materials.

Packaging & Shipping

Packaging options: 25 kg woven polypropylene sacks with liner, 500 kg / 1000 kg bulk bags (FIBCs), or bulk tanker delivery for large orders.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area on pallets, away from sources of heat and incompatible materials (e.g., fuels, organic matter, ammonium salts mixed with chlorides). Protect from moisture.

Shipping / regulatory: Classified subject to local and international regulations (may be classed as oxidizer or subject to precursor controls). Special permits, packagings, and carrier approval required for certain quantities or regions. Always ship with correct documentation (SDS, transport labels).

Do not mix with combustible materials or contaminants; avoid confinement that could lead to decomposition.

Safety Information

Ammonium nitrate is an oxidizer — it does not burn itself but can intensify combustion of other materials.

Hazards: risk of fire amplification, decomposition when contaminated, and in extreme cases explosion under confinement/contamination.

PPE: Use gloves, eye protection, and dust mask where dust generation occurs.

First aid: In case of inhalation, move to fresh air. For contact with eyes/skin, rinse with water and seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Spill response: Avoid creating dust. Sweep up and recover where possible; do not use combustible materials for cleanup. Prevent contamination of waterways.

SDS & Documentation: Safety Data Sheet (SDS), handling instructions, and transport documentation must accompany all shipments. SDS available upon request.

Compliance: Customers must adhere to local regulations on storage limits, record-keeping, and reporting for oxidizers and chemical precursors.

Applications & Industries

Agriculture: Primary nitrogen fertilizer in cropping systems (fertilizer blending, direct application).

Industrial: Component in certain industrial formulations where oxidizing properties are needed (subject to legal controls).

Mining / Construction: In some controlled industrial explosive formulations (strictly regulated and only via licensed channels).

Nitrogen-based chemical manufacturing (feedstock under controlled conditions).
